BRIAN PHILLIP COLBERT
July 4 1946 – Oct 28 2023
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Brian, a loving husband, father, gramps, brother and uncle at the age of 77.
Brian is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years Evie, daughter Marcy, son-in-law Shawn and cherished grandsons Connor and Nash. His brothers Arthur (Vivien), Elwood (Valerie), Raymond (Phyllis) and sister-in-law Wendy and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Glen, mother Mary, brothers Keith and Rodger, his mother-in-law Jennie Gauthier, father-in-law Woody Gauthier, sister-in-law’s Joyce Gauthier and Linda Joss, his dear friends Donnie Lorentz and Bruce Wall and many aunts and uncles.
We would like to thank Brian’s brothers and sister-in-law’s for being there for us. For the many visits, calls, their help and encouragement. I know Brian appreciated all that you did for us. We would like to thank my brothers Jim Gauthier, Garnet Gauthier, Jason Gauthier and sister-in-law Brenda for their advice, continued support, and help at this difficult time. I would like to thank my brother Jim for always looking out for Brian and making some of his dreams come true. We would like to thank Dave Young for his many calls and concerns for Brian over the years. You were a good friend to Brian, Dave. He looked forward to your calls. We would like to thank our friend Joanie Lorentz, for being there for us, with your friendship, support, prayers and calls to Brian and I to see how we were doing. We greatly appreciated your kindness. We would like to thank Brian’s cousin Maureen Mozel for her many visits, her friendship, and her phone calls. Brian always looked forward to the many conversations you had together.
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, nurse trainees on the 8th floor Palliative Care at the St. Boniface Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion. We thank Allison, Nicole, Roberta, Sara and Stacy for their help and support also. Brian called them all his angels and they were. God Bless you all.
At Brian’s request, his Honorary Pallbearers will be Shawn Keselowsky, Connor Keselowsky, Nash Keselowsky, Arthur Colbert, Elwood Colbert, Raymond Colbert, Jim Gauthier, Garnet Gauthier, Jason Gauthier, Randy Gauthier, Garnet Jr. Gauthier, Dave Young, Paul Lapointe, Cory Lorentz, Chris Lorentz, Joanie Lorentz and Maureen Mozel.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Brian’s name to Cancer Care Manitoba.
Celebration of life will be held on November 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph The Worker Church, 505 Brewster Street.
Private family Interment will occur at a later date.
