Obituary of NADIA PROBETTS
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nadia Probetts (nee WASILKA) on November 1, 2023, at Seven Oaks Hospital. Nadia was born on December 21, 1934, in Oakburn, Manitoba. She was the youngest of 11 siblings and lived on the family farm with everyone until she moved to Winnipeg for work. She met the love of her life, Stanley Probetts, at 18 years old. They were both working at Creamette’s and quickly fell in love. They were married on August 6, 1960, and spent 63 wonderful years together.
Nadia was predeceased by her last sister, Nellie Bogda, on September 15, 2023. Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Stanley Probetts, her daughter, Shannon (Shawn) Granovsky, son Darren Probetts (Marlene), grandchildren Ryan (Cayley) Hussey, Payton Probetts (Sasha), great-granddaughter Nora Hussey, and step-grandchild Jordan Granovsky (Twylla).
Nadia loved her family the most in life and would never pass up an opportunity to get the family together. She had family dinners for every occasion, and they meant the world to her. There are many great memories of family trips with her and dad to Punta Cana, Mexico, Hawaii, Florida, and many (many) casino trips. Mom, we are saddened to know that you are no longer here to talk or be with us, but we are truly grateful that you left this world peacefully on your own terms!
The family would like to thank Amber Meadows for the support that was provided to Mom and Dad in the last four years.
Mom, you will always be in our hearts! We will love you forever!
As per Mom’s request, a private family burial will take place.
