Obituary of RALPH KRAYCHUK
Ralph Kraychuk, beloved husband, father, grandfather, relative and friend to many, having just celebrated his 100th birthday, passed peacefully to the Lord Jesus Christ with the prayers of the Church and surrounded by his family on December 1st, 2023 at St Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Son of Ukrainian immigrants, the late Philip and Margaret Kraychuk, Ralph was born in Winnipeg on November 29th, 1923. He was raised in the North End with his brother +Russell and sister +Alexandra, and there attended school. In 1954, he married the love of his life, his dear wife ‘Trudy’ (Pauline Porznak + 2016) and they were blessed with three children, Sherry, Fr. Teodosy (Terry) and Robert, and six grandchildren, Jacqueline, Thomas and Daniel Bates of Lighthouse Point, Florida, USA, and Nicholas, Karly and Hannah Kraychuk of Paint Lake, Manitoba.
Dad’s unwavering fidelity to Christ and the Catholic Faith was the cornerstone upon which he aligned his entire life, and which ultimately inspired in him a generous love that blessed not only his beloved wife and family, but all who knew him. With hearts tempered both with sorrow at his passing and with thanksgiving for the gift of his person, he will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
