Obituary of HELEN KUCZEK
In Loving Memory of
HELEN FLORENCE KUCZEK
Surrounded by the love of her family on December 28, 2023, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Helen Kuczek passed away at the age of 92.
She is survived by her children Gerry (Giselle), Lloyd (Shawn), Barb (Tim), Wayne (Pam) and Rick (Amelia). Mom is also survived by her grandchildren Jacqueline (Ray), Derek (Emily), Tierra, Ariana, Ryan (Andrea), Darcy (Laura), Dylan (Lauren), Dexter, Ryland and 8 great grandchildren. Helen is also survived by her sisters-in-law Shirley (Ed) and Susan (Lloyd) and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Jack, her parents Mike and Julie Chaye, sisters Evelyn Bucar, Jean Marek brother Stan Chaye and niece Judy Marek.
Mom was born on November 23, 1931 in St Boniface Hospital. She grew up in Hazelglen where she met and married Jack Kuczek. Together over the next 66 years they made their homes in numerous towns throughout Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. Mom took great pride in raising her children, her hands were never idle busy working in the garden, cooking in the kitchen and knitting special gifts for family. She will be remembered for hosting many family gathering with her authentic polish cooking, welcoming smile and kind heart.
In their retirement Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling which took them to numerous destinations. One of Mom’s favourite pastimes would be riding her bicycle down North Kildonan Streets which she did until her early eighties.
Upon moving to Concordia Village mom enjoyed the many activities, concerts, bingo and just sitting and visiting her friends.
Rest easy, dear Mom, we find comfort knowing that you have been reunited with Dad. Your memory will forever live in our hearts.
Pallbearers will be Jacqueline Manaigre, Derek Kuczek, Dylan Kuczek, Dexter Kuczek, Ryland Kuczek and Darcy Greenham.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church 530 Atlantic Avenue in Beausejour, Manitoba.
