It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Helen Falkowski (nee Gawron) on December 26, 2023 at the age of 65.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Henry and will always be remembered and missed by her extended family: her sister Ursula, her bother John (Tina), nephews Dominic, Anthony (Nicole and great nephew Leo and great niece Kennedi) and Johnny (Amber). The in-law side of her family includes: sister-in-law Monika (Stephen) nephews Adam (Elinor and great nephew Conrad) Mark, Peter (Joanna and great nephew Aaron and great niece Suzi) and Anton. Brothers-in-law include Brian (Dawn), Victor (Glenda) and niece Kara (Chris)

Helena (Helen) Sophie Falkowski (nee Gawron) was born in Winnipeg on March 13, 1958. She was pre-deceased by her parents Maria and Stefan Gawron. She graduated from St. John's High School and worked as a pharmacy technician at the Winnipeg Clinic for over 35 years.

Helen and Henry celebrated 31 years of marriage this past October. They both enjoyed travelling and some highlights included Cuba, Poland, Hawaii, Florida, Alaska, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Italy and cruises to the Caribbean Islands.

Helen will always be remembered as a friendly, fun loving and very determined woman who let you know exactly what she thought and exactly what she was going to do. Family was of utmost importance to her. Henry was her husband, soulmate, and best friend. Her sister Ursula was her confidante. She maintained regular contact with her cousin Wiesia in Toronto and her cousins in Poland. Helen delighted in the successes and accomplishments of all her nephews and nieces. Her skills at needlepoint found each and everyone of them with gifts of her work commemorating special events in their lives.

Helen was always a busy lady. She was an enthusiastic gardener, loved flowers and was a member of the Manitoba Lily Association. She sang with the St. Cecilia choir and belonged to the ladies' rosary prayer group at church. Bingo and casino slots were also an enjoyable pastime. Years later, she became an avid quilter and was a member of MPQ, Material Girls and Bleak House. She so enjoyed the camaraderie at the quilting get-togethers. However, Helen's greatest passion was fishing, both in summer and winter. Just give the lady a rod and tell her how many fish you want. She loved the outdoors and in particular, the vacations with Henry to Eagle's Nest Lodge were a highlight and a dream come true.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 06, 2024 at Holy Ghost Church, 341 Selkirk Ave at 10:00 am with visitation before the service at 9:30am. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery with luncheon reception at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St
