Obituary of ROBERT RYAN NORMAN

Robert Norman passed away unexpectantly on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024, at the age of 51 years.

Robert lives on through his wife and best friend Leah, daughter Sarah (Talia), father Keith Norman, siblings Cindy and Keith Norman, father-in law Gene McWillie, and sister-in law Laura King. As well as his loving nieces and nephews Stephanie (Dylan), Bobby, Duncan, Caitlyn, and many wonderful uncles and aunts. Robert is predeceased by his mother Diane Norman, and his nephew Mackenzie Lawrence.

Robert was born in Atikokan, Ontario on September 7th, 1972. His family stayed in Atikokan until they moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, when Rob was 5. He was an active child with a passion for all sports, but his love was always football. Robert started playing with the East Side Eagles at the age of 10, until he moved to Saskatoon in 1988. Robert then played football for his high school team, Holy Cross Collegiate. This is also where Rob met his best friend and life long sidekick, Matt Griffith. After high school, Rob played junior football for the Winnipeg Hawkeyes. Eventually, Rob's football days were done, but his dedication and passion for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers stayed throughout. He also turned to golf for the second half of his life, which was a sport he loved to play when he could.

When Robert and Leah met it was an instant connection. Much to the shrine of their parents, they moved in together after dating for 9 days, and the two and were never apart. Rob and Leah had 26 beautiful years of marriage, until this unfortunate tragedy. It is from that marriage that Rob and Leah were so blessed when Sarah came into their lives. Sarah is Rob's proudest accomplishment, and would talk about how smart and empathetic she is to anyone who would listen. She is the light in his life.

Rob's other favourite thing were babies, animals, and Star Wars. At Christmas you never knew what toys were for the younger kids and what were for Rob. With great amusement we think back to how Rob couldn't remember a five list grocery order, but he could tell you the inner workings of the Star Wars universe with such depth it would make your head spin. If you were to take something from Robert's life, always remember to let your inner kid play.

Leah and Sarah would personally like to thank Dr. April Boyd, Dr. John Embil, and the nursing staff at the McGregor wound clinic. Their love and compassion made Rob's days this past year so much more tolerable.

The family will be doing a private ceremony on January 10th, 2024 with a larger celebration of life at a later date.
