I am deeply saddened to hear of this profound loss. I had only briefly waved at Wayne one time with several staff from Catherine's work via teams during Covid but we always got to hear about him and the family at work through Catherine. When ever Catherine would share stories of the family and Wayne her eyes would light up with pride and love. I am very sorry to hear this happened my heart goes out to you and your family Catherine. If you ever need us you know where we are I am so sorry I can't get there today but I know many are I will be there in spirit <3 Your friend and co worker Sara Corley

While I didn't have the chance to get to know Wayne (in my line of work, that's usually because the person isn't an administrative burden, which was a good thing...), he certainly challenged the stereotype I've come to love of a "salty maintainer"! I never saw him without a smile and a pleasant greeting, and he always made certain to stop and say hi when we passed each other in the hallways. I'm happy I had the opportunity to share the few conversations we did, and feel very much like I missed out on knowing a very well-respected and kind fellow Chinthe. Thanks for the laughs, Wayne! You will be missed.

What a pleasure to serve with Wayne over the years, what a tragedy to lose him too soon. Although Wayne will be sorely missed, he will continue to live on, in memory and in the actions of those of us who served with him. Sincere condolences to you, Catherine, and to the family. Per ardua ad astra.

My first memory of Wayne at 435 SQN was during a group sit down where he took the time to listen to peoples personal take on the unit. His intent was to get an understanding of how he could have a positive impact on individual members and the SQN as a whole.
I can personally attest to the fact that he was successful in that mission.

I worked with Wayne for a few years. He was always concerned about the well being of his subordinates. He had a heart of gold and a great sense of humour. He will be missed by everyone who were lucky enough to have know him.

Rest in piece Wayne. You never deserved this, you were a lovely person and will be forever missed. I didn't know him for long, however in the time that I knew him he treated me as a friend and he was kind, friendly, and funny. He certainly made the day brighter in every room he entered.
My condolences go out to Catherine and family.

I Worked with Wayne at 435 Sqn. I only interacted with him a few times but he came across as a great mix of consumate professional, and "old soldier". He will be missed at the Squadron.
Condolences to his family at this time.

My condolences to Catherine and family. Wayne was one of a kind and I will always remember him as that one boss who's only concern was the well being of his troops. Even after he got sick, his concern was always everyone's well being. He was always quick to lend an ear and impart nuggets of wisdom/truth.( which I always enjoyed ). He will be missed and celebrated.

Sending our deepest condolences to Catherine, Jessie, Sebastian, Troy, and families. It is so hard to believe that this has happened. Many good memories of growing up and hanging out together in Yarmouth. I've attached a picture that I found of cousins, Ross, Graham, Wayne and his dad enjoying a BBQ one summer day. Hold tight to the good memories you have and I trust you will find comfort and support from each other during this difficult time.
