NINA MAZUREK
May 25, 1940 – March 23, 2013
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nina Mazurek, our much loved sister and aunt at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit. We are so thankful that her entire family was with her during this devasting time.
She was predeceased by her parents, Egnat and Helen Mazurek and nephew Douglas Ralke.
Nina will be sadly missed by her sister, Jean (Ralph), nephew Larry (Shirley), niece Janice, sister Vera (Fred), nephew Robert (Terry), great nieces Sara (Ian), Robin, Aime, great nephews, Dylan, Cory and Ryan, great-great niece Taylor and great-great nephew Epic. Nina considered Vera’s children and grandchildren as her own and she spoiled and loved them dearly.
Nina lived her entire life in Winnipeg working for Manitoba Telephone System for 38 years. After retirement she was young enough to continue working part time at the Relay Store in the old Airport and Duty Free at the New Airport. She loved all her jobs, but especially the people she met and worked with. Nina will be remembered for loyalty to her long list of friends whom she has known for a long time. Nina was an avid volunteer with Pioneers, major Golf and Curling events, Red Nose Driver, Indigenous Games to name a few. Big Sister was a big part of her life. Nina travelled far and wide to Russia, Jamaica, Barbados, Cuba, Hawaii, Florida, Mexico, Arizona, New York, Surrey, B.C., even Gimli. MB.
Special thanks to St. Boniface Emergency Dept, 5E Ward and Dr. Ted St. Goddard and Joanne in Palliative Care.
