Obituary of ADOLFINA (ADELA) SZKWAREK
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Aunt Adolfina Szkwarek, known affectionately as Adela, on Saturday, January 20, 2024. She left this world surrounded by love and now rests in eternal peace.
Adolfina was born in Tarnowica Polna, Poland, and her journey through life was marked by resilience, love, and devotion. In 1948, she found her lifelong companion, Mieczyslaw Szkwarek, and together they embarked on a journey of love and commitment. In 1958, they started a new chapter in Canada, where Adolfina's strength, grace, and warmth endeared her to all who knew her.
Adolfina was preceded in death by her parents, Wincenty and Anna Kwas, her beloved husband Mieczyslaw, her sisters Katarzyna Kolt, and Maria Zaleski, as well as her nephew John Huzarski. Despite the sorrows she endured, Adolfina faced life with unwavering dignity.
Her devotion to Mieczyslaw was a testament to enduring love, spanning 58 years of marriage. Adolfina's caring nature extended to her family, and her role as a devout Catholic at Holy Ghost Parish in Winnipeg exemplified her unwavering faith.
Adolfina Szkwarek was a paragon of strength, a beacon of love, and an exemplary role model to her family. Her legacy will be remembered in the countless lives she touched with her kindness, wisdom, and nurturing spirit. She will be forever in our hearts.
Thank you to the staff at Holy Family Home for their care and support.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday January 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with Rosary prior at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave with an Oblate Father as Celebrant. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street.
We love you Ciocia. You will be sadly missed and never forgotten.
May You Always
May you always walk in sunshine,
and God’s love around you flow,
for the happiness you gave us,
no one will ever know.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
the day God called you home.
A million times we’ve cried.
If love could have saved you,
you never would have died.
Rest In Peace
