Obituary of THERESA SEMBRAT

Theresa Sembrat

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Theresa. She peacefully passed away at home on January 16, 2024. She is survived by her daughter Deana, mother Anne, brothers Paul, Daniel, and Eugene, sister Mary-Anne, sisters-in-law Diana and Leona, nephews Matthew and Alexander, and nieces Meira, Anna, and Renia. She is predeceased by her father William (Vasyl).

Theresa was born on September 19, 1967 in Hamilton Ontario. She grew up on a farm at Dugald Manitoba and resided in Winnipeg for all her adult life. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and held a Health Care Aide Certificate from Red River College. Theresa struggled with her mental health but always sought to make the best of her life. She took great pride in her independence and was a dedicated employee of Winnipeg Harvest for several years.

Theresa was generous in her heart and made special effort to remember her relatives on birthdays and holidays with cards and letters. In recent years she found great joy in sharing her cooking and baking with friends. Her last day was spent baking cookies which she intended to share with friends in her building.

Theresa's family would like thank everyone who gave her their friendship, patience, and kindness throughout her life.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Manitoba and Winnipeg branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.

A Ukrainian Catholic funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
