Obituary of ROBERT CECIL LOXTON
Robert Cecil Raymond Loxton
1947-2024
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Robert Loxton, who passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the age of 76.
He was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered by his son Ashley (Renee), daughter Pamela (Francis), brothers Lloyd, Ray, Ken, sisters Judy, Audrey, and grandchildren Ethan, Zander, Owen and Wyatt. He was predeceased by his sister Diana, mother Bernice, and father George.
Bob was born in Vita, Manitoba and spent his whole life in the province. One of his first jobs he talked about was working in a florist shop. He was very creative and quickly learned how to arrange flowers and became very good at his craft.
In 1975, Bob chose a different line of work and became a Winnipeg Transit bus driver. He loved his job and loved to talk to people. He always went above and beyond to help people around him all the time.
He loved people and family, loved animals and nature, loved to write poems and songs, and he shared everything he had with others.
Early on, he loved jogging but especially track and field. He was known to be a “track star” because he was super fast and no one could catch him. Bob was also an artist. He loved oil painting and he could draw just about anything. He even sold a few, but mostly gave his art away to the ones he loved.
Bob did tons of charity work such as Variety Club for children, Siloam Mission, Winnipeg Harvest, Christmas Cheer Board hampers, and recently donated to Operation Smile. He loved to help the elderly and those less fortunate.
Bob was definitely a people person, and made friends very easily. He loved to talk to anyone and everyone, and if you started a conversation with him, you better have some time to spare because he loved to chat. He was a big teddy bear and he had a huge heart. He didn’t have much but he would give the shirt off his back if you needed it.
He loved everyone, but most of all, he loved God. He said “The Lord comes first, then my children, then family, and my church.”
Bob will be deeply missed, but most of all by his family. Until we meet again. Rest easy and love you lots!
