Obituary of MARIA NATALIA CAMARA
Maria Natalia Camara
(nee Bergantim)
May 14, 1929 – June 13, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, & great grandmother Maria Natalia, on June 13, 2024, at her residence in Pembina Place Personal Care Home, at the age of 95.
Natalia was predeceased by her husband Tome, her sister Conceicao, & her brother Jose (Olga). She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Mary Filomena (Edward), her granddaughter Lindsay (Jared), her great granddaughter Madison as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, Natalia immigrated to Canada in 1961, along with her daughter, Mary Filomena. Together, they reunited with her husband Tome, who had immigrated to Canada a few years earlier. Employed at various jobs early upon her arrival to Canada, Natalia’s time was spent mostly raising her daughter & being a housewife. Later in life, she enjoyed spending much time with her granddaughter and then great granddaughter.
Natalia leaves behind a legacy of love and a life well lived. She will be forever loved and deeply missed by her family, friends, and all that knew her. May she rest in peace.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff, recreation staff, and all other staff that attended to Natalia’s needs, that made her stay at Pembina Personal Care Home comfortable & enjoyable.
A private interment at Assumption Cemetery was held with Msgr. Maurice Comeault presiding.
