STANLEY KUSTIAK
May 9, 1937 – June 21, 2024
It is with heavy hearts and deepest sadness we announce the passing of our dear Dad and Dido, Stanley Kustiak on Friday, June 21, 2024, with family by his side.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Orysia of 51 years. Parents John and Jessie, brother Joseph, and nephew Arnold.
Stan leaves to mourn his daughter Karen (Rick), sons Wayne and Jeff, grandchildren Christine, Stephen, Courtney and Aidan, great-grandchild Steele, and brothers Morris (Joan) and Tony (Irene), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Dad was born on May 9, 1937, in Oakburn, Manitoba where he lived on the farm until the age of 18 when he moved to Winnipeg. It was there he met the love of his life, Orysia. They married June 3, 1961 and raised 3 children.
Dad adored his children and grandchildren. Family meant the world to him. He was a very hard worker and worked at Versatile Farm Equipment until his retirement in 1998. Stan loved spending time at the family farm as well as being outdoors being an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was involved with Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus 8499 being an Auxillary Knight.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nursing staff, and health care aids on 5 North and 4 south at the Grace Hospital for all their care and support, especially the spiritual worker, Oscar. Also thank you to the doctors, nursing staff, and heath care aids at Riverview Health Centre, especially Dr. L Blom and Rose.
A special thank you to Rev. Fr. Volodymyr Bushutskyy and Zenon Scraba (Grand Knight), the Knights of Columbus and Honour Guards.
Prayers will be said at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Ave. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be on July 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery, 4355 Main St.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Kustiak, Stephen Drepko, Rick Drepko, Jesse Kustiak , Ron Johnson Riley Stevens, Rene De Ruiter, Trevor Kustiak, Tyson Kustiak, honorary pallbearers are family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations in Stan’s memory can be made to a charity of your choice.
