Obituary of WAYLON LESLIE CAMPEAU
WAYLON LESLIE CAMPEAU
It is with deep sorrow we announce on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Waylon passed away at the age of 44 years.
He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Cook.
Waylon is lovingly remembered by his mother Norma Campeau, brothers Brian Campeau, Darren Cook and Ice Cook, sisters Monica Campeau, Tara Campeau, Christina Campeau, Lore Campeau and Julie Cook and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Waylon went to Dufferin Elementary School and St. Johns High School. He volunteered for many years with Lord Selkirk Park Childcare Centre and Resource Centre. He loved to watch and cheer on his Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Winnipeg Jets, watch the Olympics and wrestling with his friend John. He also enjoyed a good cup of coffee made with love and a mean game of Crazy Eights.
The family would especially like to thank the following; Dave Schwab (retired Social Worker), Constable Kirk, the late Mr. Campbell, Jason, David and staff from New Directions, Jordan from Community Living Disability Services, Amina, Justine and Samantha from Lord Selkirk Park Resource Centre and staff from Childcare Centre and last but not least all his friends from 269 Dufferin Ave.
A wake will be held on Sunday, September 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
A Funeral Service will follow on Monday at 11:00 a.m. also at Cropo with Pastor Paul Winter officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
