Obituary of ELEANOR LINDWALL
Eleanor passed away peacefully March 19, 2024 in Kelowna, B.C.
Eleanor Lindwall was born Dorothy Eleanor Jentsch, to parents Ernst and Martha and was the baby sister to Gerald and Ernie.
She was proud to grow up in Winnipeg’s North End. In her teen years, the family began spending time in the Whiteshell where her dad and brothers built many cottages. They built their own cottage at Star Lake in 1950. She loved spending time there over the years. She married Ray Lindwall in 1953 and they had 3 children together. After they divorced in l969, Eleanor went to work full time at the Department of Motor Vehicles which later became M.P.I. where she worked until her retirement. Over the years she belonged to the Jazz Society and had many friends and outings with their group. She also enjoyed bowling with her brother Ernie at the German Club.
Eleanor was very proud of her children and grandchildren and was very happy to have a great-grandchild. She will be remembered by her children; daughter Sandy (Dave) McGonigal and children Martha (Alex) and Kari (Joel); daughter Karen (Jeff) Preston and children Melanie (Colton) and Mitchell; and son Gord (Mona) Lindwall and children Rachelle (Nick), their son Hunter and Curtis (Sharra).
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 19 at 1:00 p.m. in Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
