Obituary of RONALD DAVID SUSMELJ

1966 - 2024

Our beloved brother, Ron, was born April 27, 1966 at Winnipeg General Hospital.

He leaves to mourn of his passing, his sister Fausta and his brother Claudio.

He was predeceased by his father Alojs and his mother Paula.

Ron/Ronnie, as his family and friends called him, will be missed within our hearts. Ronnie was an individual that was very kind, sincere, appreciated and dedicated. He will always be remembered as a true, honest, great friend and brother. His accomplishments were to receive a great education starting at École Sacré-Coeur, a French immersion elementary school and continued at Kelvin High School with proceeds of a 4.0 at the U of M, and finished with a bachelor degree. He was a busy body putting himself through school with part time employment as a bartender, oil change rep, plus others. He liked to collect vintage “pachinko machines” and older slot machines, of which he also repaired. His collections of many things are impressive.

One day, he became an employee of VIA RAIL (30 years +) which he really enjoyed the traveling and most importantly the colleagues he worked with. VIA RAIL was his extended family which he had honoured to be a part of his achievements. He was a dedicated employee and truly a great respected individual by all. We wished that he could have fulfilled his retirement with all his dreams and goals that awaited him. A gentle person, a generous guy we all respected.

May you rest in peace BROTHER.  You will always be in our thoughts.

Memorial service to take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10:00 am at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
