Obituary of LEWIS PAUL LEROY
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lewis Paul Leroy at the age of 88 years old. With family by his side, Lew passed away on Monday October 14, 2024 at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, MB.
Lew was born on September 11, 1936, in St. Lupicin, Manitoba.
He was predeceased by his mother Madeleine, father Adolphe, Son William, Brothers Robert, Thomas and Sister Helene. Living siblings are sisters Sylvia, Peggy and Carmelle.
Lew spent 45 years in partnership with Freda Spence and had three beautiful children.
He spent most of his life in the trucking industry and owned his own successful mobile home moving business which he retired from in October, 2021. Lew touched the lives of many with his kindness and wisdom, leaving behind a profound impact on his family and friends. A devoted Father, grandfather and friend, Lew always placed the needs of others before his own. His unconditional love and support brought comfort to those around him. His smile and wit could brighten anyone’s day, Lew also enjoyed pushing buttons to make you laugh during conversations with him. Lew found joy in the little things and cherished the moments spent with loved ones. He would tell us stories when he was younger and always told us where he has travelled and how to get there. Lew leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories that will be carried in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He was all about a good deal, he was a giver, he would buy stuff in bulk and come and give it to anyone he would see. Lew would stop in and bring his date squares or treats and most of the time it was all melted from being in his car all day. He would always ask if we needed eggs or potatoes and would come and deliver. Lew may no longer be with us in the physical sense, but the impact he made on our lives will forever remain.
Lew loved his family and loved seeing his grandchildren. Lew was loved by many; He is survived by his partner Freda, his children Robert (Rita), Lynn, James (Rhonda), Linda Lou (Jim), Peter (Denise), TJ (Sara), Pitsy (Lauren), all his grandchildren, great grandson and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
His celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, Manitoba.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to The Health Science Centre Surgeons, Doctors, Nurses, and Health Care Aid’s on the SICU and GA-3 wards for giving outstanding care given while Dad/Lew was there for 17 days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to STARS, and SICU at the Health Science Centre.
