Obituary of OLGA MALENKI
On Monday, October 21 Olga (Byneshewsky) Malenki passed away peacefully at River Park Gardens Nursing Home at just over 90 years of age.
Olga was was born in the family farm house on July 04, 1934 to her parents Joseph and Anna (Hesiuk) Byneshewsky in Stenen, Saskatchewan. She was blessed with 3 brothers (John, Steve and Mike) and 2 sisters (Mary Karakochuk and Verna Wozny).
Olga grew up on the family farm in Stenen. She worked on the family farm and received her first 8 grade years of school in Stenen at Good Hue School.
Olga worked on the family farm until 1952, when she moved to Winnipeg to work at Canada Packers. There in Winnipeg she was engaged to be married to her future husband John Malenki.
Olga and John were united in Holy Matrimony at St Nicholas Catholic Church in Stenen, Saskatchewan on July 12th, 1952.
They lived and worked on the family farms for the first 2 years in Stenen, where they had two children Kevin and then Debra the following year. They then moved to Winnipeg and lived in the upstairs of the Mcgee house on Disraeli Avenue in Winnipeg. After about 6 months they bought a home on Logan Avenue, where Olga's 3rd child Audwin Brook was conceived in 1961. At the end of January 1967 they purchased and moved the family to their residence on Autumnwood. Olga was an avid home maker. She took on a job working in Eaton's Mail Order. Then Olga received her GED grade 12 and went on to study in a Registered Nursing program at the St. Boniface Hospital in 1980. After the first year she decided the RN Nursing program wasn’t for her. She then took a job as data entry with the CRA.
She was a hard worker. Olga enjoyed life. Olga enjoyed reading, volunteering, spending time at the cottage and Gabriola, traveling and visiting with friends and relatives.
Olga was a devoted wife and home maker. She was passionate and dedicated to her family, her children and her grandchildren.
Olga was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Anna, brothers John, Steve, Mike and sister Mary Karakochuk. Her husband's parents Emil and Martha, her husband John of 68 years, his brother Bill (Kaye) and sisters Nina (Pete) Ozirney, Elizabeth (W.Semeniuk) Szabo and Violet (Metro) Salyn.
Olga is survived by her 3 children, grandchildren Nathan Morris and Alexandra Stadnichuk, her sister Verna (Mercel) Wozny and her husband's brother Harry (Lena) Malenki and sister Olga Bymak.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 10am at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 390 Marion Street in Winnipeg. Interment will take place in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Bird's Hill Park, Manitoba.
