RANDY LAGIMODIERE

Obituary of RANDY LAGIMODIERE

It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Randy, just a little more than 2 years after his cancer diagnosis. Randy was an inspiration to his family. He fought hard and was amazingly strong right up until his last day. Throughout his diagnosis Randy tried to stay positive and continued to live life on his terms. During Randy’s final days of life, his family made sure to surround him with their presence and love.

Randy will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Shauna; sons, Justin (Connie), Jordan (Atina); granddaughters, Khloe and Rayne; mother and father-in-law, Jill and Allen; sister, Michele (Al); brother, Derrick (Vera); uncle, Darrin (Terry); aunt, Connie, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers and of course, his beloved dog Spirit.

Randy was predeceased by his parents, Darlene and Gerry; sisters, Charlene, Laurie and Lisa; brother, Craig; aunt, Joyce, uncles, Gordy and Gerald and great nephew Domenic.

Randy, the 2nd youngest of 7 children, was born in Fort William, Ontario. The family moved to the North end of Winnipeg when he was a toddler.  He often talked about growing up there and the good times he had with family and friends.

In his early 20’s Randy started working for Contempra Signs. He was a hard worker and did his job well.  He remained employed there until his health started to decline in June 2024.

In his spare time Randy enjoyed fishing and ice fishing with friends, co-workers and starting from a very young age, our son Jordan would sometimes join them. Randy was an amazing cook and loved to make home cooked meals for his family. He was a grill master on the barbecue and he was looking forward to trying his hand at his new smoker. He also loved his football games and cheering on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He loved spending time at the family trailer in Winnipeg Beach and a few vacations spent at a beachfront resort in Bemidji, Minnesota, where he also fished.

Randy was a friendly outgoing guy that everybody liked. He was kind, loving, caring and generous. He had a great sense of humour, enjoyed having laughs and a good time.

Rest easy Randy, we know that you will be watching over us. Please know how much we love you and we will keep you in our hearts always and forever.

The family would like to give our heartfelt thanks for the care from Dr. Joel Gingerich and nurse Trisha at CancerCare Manitoba, nurse Trish and case coordinator Sarah with the community palliative care program and the staff on the 3E palliative care unit at Riverview Health Centre.

Those who wish may make a donation in Randy’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba.

Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
