It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Lettie (Straiton) Schwartz, 93, on Wednesday, October 30th.

Lettie married her beloved husband Howard Schwartz in 1954. During their 65 years together, they were blessed with five children: Terrie (Gord), John (Kelly), Edward (Dawna), Dianne, Bryan (Krista); along with nine grandchildren and eleven great grand children. Lettie was predeceased by her husband, parents and brother.

Lettie enjoyed spending time with her many grandkids, and great grand kids; both watching over them and listening to them. Over the years she became a ferocious reader, and always had a book next to her. She loved time with her girlfriends from her bowling league and going to the casino to play the “one armed bandit”.

Her spirit and zest for life will be missed by all those who knew her.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to staff at the Park Manor Care home for their care and compassion of Lettie.

A celebration of life will be held at the graveside on Monday, November 18th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend at Transcona Cemetery, 5014 Dugald Road, Winnipeg. A drop-in will be held immediately after. Please reach out to one of her children for the details if you wish to attend.
