Uncle Henry,
You will always be in our hearts, remembered in our minds and felt with our souls.
When the psalmist David wrote this psalm the one that marks your doorway it seems he wanted us to know God is always with us...as You will be.
The Lord Is My Shepherd
A Psalm of David.
Psalm 23 " The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
forever."
God is always with us and now you are with God.

We loved Henry!! We also owned a cottage at Flanders Lake. We had 4 young kids at the time and our destination walks would be to Henry and Herma’s. Herma always had some treat for the kids - be it candy or vegetables from their garden. Henry always had a joke or a piece of advice to share. He always had a big smile!
The craziest time I can remember is we had gone blueberry picking with Henry and Herma. Henry was in his mid-80s at the time and he wanted a tree knot that was about 15 feet up the tree. He liked how it looked and he wanted it for his Cottage decor. So he climbed up the tree and perched on a small branch he reached up and sawed off the knot. We thought for sure he was going to fall but he was steady and got his knot!!
We have lots of fond memories of Henry.
