So very sorry to learn of George’s passing. George was one of my first child hood friends, having lived 2 houses down from him. I only saw George the odd time in later years, but have fond memories of him as always being a nice guy.

Sincerest condolences to Patrica and their children on George's passing.
I was a chain man on George's CN survey crew for a few summers back in the 60s. I was green as the grass when I started but George was patient with me, was a good teacher and I learned a lot about the craft that I later to put to use doing land surveys with the Water Resources Branch of the Province. I have fond memories of tooting around southern Manitoba on rail-traveling motor cars, aka 'jiggers', the small motorized vehicles carrying a few employees. We'd come home after a few days on the road sporting sunburn from riding the jiggers. I feel badly I lost touch with George after I left CN but I did stay in touch with another of the crew who popped up where I worked a few years later.
May you be comforted by the fond memories you hold of George and his place in your lives and hearts
